The following points should be noted when installing rubber and plastic thermal insulation materials: 1. All cuts and joints must be sealed with Huamei-brand专用 adhesive. 2. After installation, all tees, elbows, valves, flanges, and other accessories must meet the designed thickness requirements.
Basic Technical Rules and Installation & Usage Instructions
1. Technical Specifications for the Installation of Rubber and Plastic Thermal Insulation Materials
The following points should be noted when installing rubber and plastic thermal insulation materials:
1. All cuts and joints must be sealed with Huamei brand专用 adhesive.
2. After installation, all tees, elbows, valves, flanges, and other accessories must meet the designed thickness requirements.
3. When applying glue, don't use excessive force; the joints between all materials should be bonded under slight pressure.
4. During installation, first install the larger pipes, then the smaller ones; first install elbows and tees, then straight pipes, and finally valves and flanges.
5. When installing chilled water pipes and refrigeration equipment, the gaps between the ends of the rubber-plastic pipes and the iron pipes must be sealed with adhesive. The bonding width should not be equal to the thickness of the rubber-plastic material.
6. The cut openings of pipes should be installed in inconspicuous locations as much as possible, and the cut openings of the two pipe sections should be staggered relative to each other.
7. Do not install the machine during use. Do not turn it on within 36 hours after installation.
8. Due to packaging, large-diameter rubber-plastic pipes have become elliptical in shape. When cutting them open, please cut along the flatter side.
2: Proper Use of Glue
1. Before use, shake the container thoroughly to ensure the glue is evenly mixed. During actual installation, use a smaller jar of glue to prevent it from evaporating too quickly. If necessary, you can transfer some of the contents from the larger jar into the smaller one for use. When not in use, be sure to seal the jar tightly.
2. Use a short, stiff-bristled brush.
3. Apply a thin, even layer of specialized adhesive to the bonding surfaces at both ends of the material.
4. The natural drying time for the专用 glue﹡ is 3 to 10 minutes. The exact duration depends on the glue’s grade, as well as the temperature and humidity of the atmosphere. Exposure beyond 20 minutes renders the glue ineffective.
5. When using, allow the adhesive to dry naturally. The correct method for checking dryness is the “finger-touch test”: Touch the coated surface with your finger. If your finger does not stick to the material’s surface and the surface feels neither sticky nor tacky, you can proceed with bonding.
6. During bonding, simply align the two surfaces of the adhesive interface and hold them firmly together for a short while.
7. If the adhesive has been left for too long and no longer exhibits stickiness when the two surfaces are pressed together, please repeat steps 2 through 6.
8. Under normal circumstances, every kilogram of rubber-plastic-specific adhesive can cover a bonding surface of two square meters.
9. Generally, specialized adhesives should not be used at temperatures below 5℃. When working in an environment between 5℃ and 10℃, please place the adhesive in an indoor space maintained at a temperature of 20℃ and take it out only when needed.
10. When joining two materials under pressure, there’s no need to wait for the adhesive to dry. Instead, use the wet-bonding method: First, place the materials in their intended installation positions, apply adhesive to the joint areas of the materials, and carefully adjust their positions. The materials will quickly bond firmly in the positions you’ve designed.
11. Check whether the adhesive between the glue and the anti-rust paint protecting the steel pipe is firmly bonded.
3: Drying Time
The time elapsed between applying glue and bonding the materials.
Factors to consider when determining the thickness of thermal insulation materials:
1. The higher the ambient temperature, the thicker the material;
2. The higher the relative humidity, the thicker the material;
3. The lower the medium temperature, the thicker the material;
4. The larger the pipe diameter, the thicker the material.
